“I had pain in my lumbar spine when I was ten years old,” says Ernst Kornfeld from Kremsmünster. At the age of 35, the symptoms became more severe and he sought and found help from a doctor in Linz, who also introduced him to the “interaction of the movement and postural muscles”. “Back then, I only followed the advice half-heartedly. It was only after I retired that I found the time to look into it more intensively – and really became pain-free,” says the management consultant.
His conclusion: “If poor posture is maintained over a long period of time, it can lead to pain, for which tablets and injections are usually prescribed.” However, if incorrect use of the muscles is not recognized, the symptoms would recur periodically.
During the Corona pandemic, the now 84-year-old found the time to write down his experiences and findings in the area of muscles and the spine. The result is the book “The 3 Secrets of the Spine”, which he published with novum Verlag and which contains many tips on lifting, carrying, sitting, lying down and getting up correctly.
