Vegard Harm, known for his participation in challenging events like Norseman and a string of popular VGTV shows, is embarking on a new adventure: finding love on television. The 29-year-ancient television personality is set to star in a new reality series that promises a different approach to the dating show format, focusing on authentic connection rather than manufactured drama.
Harm, who has openly discussed his desire for a partner, announced the project on Tuesday, February 24th. The series, currently unnamed, will follow Harm in his everyday life in Stokke, Norway, as he meets potential matches. “I’m of course terrified and wondering what on earth I’ve said yes to,” Harm said in a press release. “But I sense that now I’m ready to uncover love for real.”
Unlike typical reality dating programs, Harm emphasized his desire for a genuine experience. “If I’m going to date on TV, it has to be done properly. This can’t be like ‘The Bachelor’ with twists and turns and rose ceremonies. It has to be real,” he stated, expressing a preference for a format similar to the Norwegian show “Jakten på kjærligheten” (The Hunt for Love), but with its own unique spin.
The production team, led by Mila Kobro of Salto, is actively seeking men who are “genuinely looking for love, not just fifteen minutes of fame.” Kobro stressed that the series will deliberately avoid the competitive elements often found in dating shows. “This isn’t a competition where someone has to ‘win’ Vegard. We believe that lasting relationships are created quietly – through conversations, humor and sharing each other’s everyday lives,” she explained.
Harm is looking for a “grown-up, honest, and secure man,” and playfully added his wish for a partner who is financially stable and owns a cabin at Gaustablikk, a popular ski resort in Norway. This isn’t the first time Harm has shared his life with the public. He’s become a familiar face on VGTV through appearances in programs like “Panelet,” “Life of Harm,” “Harm &. Hegseth,” and “Vegard X Funkygine,” and also competed in “Kompani Lauritzen.” In 2019, he was awarded the Vixen prize for “Best Influencer.”
Norseman and Beyond: Harm’s Journey to Finding Love
Harm’s recent participation in Norseman, widely considered one of the world’s toughest triathlons, showcased his dedication, and resilience. The event, which involves a 3.8-kilometer swim, a 180-kilometer bike ride, and a 42-kilometer run, pushed Harm to his limits. VGTV documented his preparation and participation, though results were initially kept under wraps as part of the “Vegard X Funkygine” series. Harm completed the race in 18 hours and 48 minutes, as revealed in the final episode of the show. Se og Hør reported on the reveal of his finishing time.
The success of “Vegard X Funkygine,” co-starring Jørgine Massa Vasstrand, has undoubtedly contributed to Harm’s public profile and willingness to share his personal life. TV 2 reported on the challenges Harm faced during the 2024 Norseman competition, highlighting the demanding nature of the event.
What to Expect from the New Dating Series
Casting for the new VGTV series is currently underway, with production scheduled to begin this spring. The show aims to present a more realistic portrayal of the dating process, focusing on building genuine connections rather than relying on contrived scenarios. Producers are specifically looking for individuals who are open, secure, and genuinely seeking a long-term relationship.
The series promises to offer viewers a glimpse into Harm’s life beyond his public persona, showcasing his everyday routines and interactions as he navigates the search for love. While the series title remains undisclosed, the focus on authenticity and genuine connection suggests a refreshing departure from traditional reality dating formats.
As Harm prepares to open his heart on national television, viewers can anticipate a series that prioritizes real relationships and honest emotions. The upcoming VGTV series marks a new chapter for the popular personality, and promises to be a compelling look at the search for love in the modern world.
