Zaire’s provincial commander of the National Police, Commissioner Firmino Uyamba, appealed on Saturday, in Mbanza Kongo, to the border guard staff to redouble, during this festive season, surveillance actions along the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

When addressing the forces of the provincial delegation of the Ministry of the Interior on parade, the delegate from this sector in the region also called for discipline and a spirit of mission to counter possible infractions during the festive season, with emphasis on illegal immigration and fuel smuggling .

He explained that a contingency plan is in force, drawn up by the General Command of the National Police and directed to the northern region of the country in the event of a possible change in public order along the border with the DRC.

Four municipalities in the province of Zaire, namely Mbanza Kongo, Cuimba, Soyo and Nóqui, share a border with the DRC, covering a length of 310 kilometers.
