A total of 192 Azerbaijani soldiers were killed and some 500 wounded in the country’s offensive on Nagorno-Karabakh last week, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday.

The military operation allowed Azerbaijan to regain full control over the separatist region, which had been governed by local forces for regarding 30 years. Thousands of ethnic Armenians have tried to leave the region since separatist troops agreed to surrender.

The situation in Nagorno-Karabakh remained uncertain following two rounds of talks between Azerbaijani authorities and separatists.
