The representative of the Azerbaijani President confirmed to Sky News Arabia that the issue of the Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh is an issue “private to the state of Azerbaijan.”

Ambassador Elchin Amirbayov, representative of the Azerbaijani President on special missions, confirmed that his country is holding open talks with Armenia under the title of “mutual respect.”

In an interview with Sky News Arabia, Amirbayov said: “Discussions with the Armenians may lead to a peace agreement that ends decades of conflict,” before confirming that the fate of the Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh is a private matter for Azerbaijan.

Media reports reported that Armenians in the Nagorno-Karabakh region agreed to Azerbaijan’s conditions to disarm to stop the military operation.

The Russian Interfax news agency reported that Armenian separatists in Nagorno-Karabakh agreed to the terms of a ceasefire proposed by Russian peacekeeping forces following suffering a series of setbacks on the battlefield at the hands of the Azerbaijani army.

The ceasefire began on Wednesday morning, and talks will be held on Thursday regarding reintegration with Azerbaijan.
