Pregnant women will now be identified if they wish, on Longueuil transport network buses. In fact, last week, the RTL implemented the Baby on Board! initiative, which aims to improve the safety and comfort of pregnant women when traveling by bus. From now on, they can obtain a pin and wear it on buses to encourage other users to give up their seats to them.
This initiative was proposed by Maria, an RTL employee-to-be, who spotted a Baby On Board pin on the London Underground during a recent trip. This distinctive sign has been used in London and New York by more than 130,000 pregnant women per year for around ten years.
