Bad Sassendorf,Germany – A playful challenge has been launched by the ADAC Westphalia in anticipation of Sunday’s classic car rally held in the spa park. The organization is inviting visitors to participate in a search for what they’ve dubbed “Templers”-individuals born in the very same year as a selection of 25 classic automobiles on show.
The “Temple” Challenge: A Race Against Time
The challenge, initiated by ADAC employee Heike Ellermann, stems from a confident bet: that locating 25 individuals matching the birth years of the showcased vehicles is an impossible task. For instance, should a 1956 Volkswagen Beetle be among the featured cars, the search would be on for a person born that same year. Participants are encouraged to bring identification to verify their birth dates.
The search will commence around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, as the cars return from their scenic route through the surrounding regions. The selected vehicles will then be clearly marked, and participants will have approximately one hour to come forward and claim their “Temple” status.
More Than Just a Bet: A Weekend of automotive Celebration
Nonetheless of the outcome, the ADAC has pledged to plant a tree within the community if the challenge is successfully met. Though, the bet is just one component of a larger “Time Travel with all senses” event, encompassing displays of classic cars and historical farming equipment throughout the town center on Saturday and Sunday, September 13th and 14th.Local businesses are participating with themed offers, and balloon artists Cordula and Rüdiger Paulsen will be creating art for children on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday’s Events: Festivals and a grand Parade
Sunday will host the “ADAC Oldtimer Festival” with Mayor Malte Dahlhoff officially beginning the 25th “ADAC Bad Sassendorf Classic” car exit at 10 a.m. A total of 104 classic cars have registered for the event, and will be briefly presented ahead of the parade. A concurrent “Classic im Park” gathering will feature 100 additional historical vehicles on display from noon onwards.Live music will be provided by the band “The Speedos,” and children’s activities will also be available.
