Bahnhofstrasse Zurich: Blüttler poses for photos in front of the Chanel boutique when the temperature is below zero

Curious appearance on Zurich’s Bahnhofstrasse: On Sunday followingnoon, a man dressed only in sunglasses, shoes and socks posed for photos on Bahnhofstrasse. “The man stuck his middle finger into the camera,” says a reader who observed the whole thing. “But it looked like a photo shoot, right in front of the Chanel boutique.” However, she does not know whether it is an art project, a marketing campaign or a protest action. The three people appeared out of nowhere and disappeared just as quickly.

As the Zurich city police reported on request, no report or complaint of harassment in relation to the naked man was received.

Appearing naked in public is generally permitted in Switzerland – but only if the nudity is not sexually motivated. However, exhibitionist acts, i.e. actively presenting one’s privates or sexual acts in public, are punishable. Some cantons have also banned nudity as “indecent behavior”.
