Bahrain calls Iraqi Chargé d’Affaires to account for frequent breach of diplomatic protocols.

The Chargé d’Affaires of the Iraqi Embassy to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Moayad Omar Abdul Rahman, was summoned by the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, according to the official Bahrain News Agency (BNA). The Bahraini Foreign Ministry expressed its “deep regret and dissatisfaction with his repeated violations of diplomatic norms” to the Iraqi official. The Bahraini Foreign Minister, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, condemned the unacceptable behavior by the Iraqi Chargé d’Affaires in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which went once morest diplomatic protocols, and his diplomatic duties. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not provide further details regarding the reason for summoning the Iraqi diplomat but regarded his actions as an “unacceptable interference in the internal affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which contradicts the principles regulating relations between countries stipulated in the Charter of the United Nations”. The Bahraini Foreign Minister delivered a formal protest note to the Iraqi charge d’affaires accordingly.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned, on Tuesday, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Iraqi Embassy to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Moayad Omar Abdul Rahman, according to the official Bahrain News Agency (BNA).

The agency stated that the Bahraini Foreign Ministry informed the Iraqi Chargé d’Affaires of its “deep regret and dissatisfaction with his repeated violations of diplomatic norms.”

The agency said, “Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs (has) informed the Iraqi Chargé d’Affaires of the Ministry’s strong condemnation of his recent unacceptable behavior that contradicts diplomatic protocols in the Kingdom, and contradicts his diplomatic duties as Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in the Kingdom of Bahrain.”

The official news agency did not explain more details regarding the reason for summoning the Iraqi diplomat, but indicated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered what he did “an unacceptable interference in the internal affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which contradicts the principles regulating relations between countries stipulated in the Charter of the United Nations.”

The Bahraini foreign minister handed the Iraqi charge d’affaires an official protest note in this regard.
