For several decades now, a pool of technological and scientific companies has been settling in the Basque Country. On the south side, in Spanish territory, the territory has an important network of companies in the field of biosciences which today is internationally recognized. On the French side, many start-ups are developing and generally join the Izarbel area of Bidart or the Bayonne technocity.
This Wednesday, June 28, 2023 in the Izarbel area of Bidart, the Basque Country Agglomeration Community (CAPB) and the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department struck a strong blow by financing the building which will be dedicated to Medtech.
The inauguration took place in the presence of several elected officials including, among others, the mayor of Bidart, Jean-René Etchegaray, the president of the CAPB, Alain Rousset, President of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, Patxi Elissalde, Director of the ‘ESTIA and finally Jurgi Camblong, founder of Sophia Genetics.
