Belgian Beers Triumph at World Beer Awards 2023: Best Sour & Wild Beers, Fruit Lambic, Gueuze, Kriek, and More

Eight Belgian beers were named among the best in the world on Thursday evening during the final of the World Beer Awards 2023 in London. Flemish Red Ale XII (Sosab, Science Of Sour Ale Brewing) won its “Sour & Wild Beers” category.

In the same category, four other Belgian beers were awarded: Tarot Noir (Lindemans) as best fruit lambic, Oude Gueuze Cuvée René (Lindemans) in the gueuze section, Boon Millésime – Oude Schaarbeekse Kriek (Boon brewery) as best Kriek and the Petrus Aged Pale (De Brabandere) in the “Sour & Wild Ale” section.

Among the flavored beers, Petrus Red (De Brabandere) won in the “Flavoured Fruits and Vegetables” section and Cuvée Clarisse Whiskey Infused (Wilderen Brewery & Distillery) among the spirit beers.
