Belgian Justice Minister Vincent Van Quickenborn resigns. He made this decision following the death of two Swedish citizens as a result of shooting at a football match in Brussels.
“This is an individual, monumental and unacceptable mistake that has led to dramatic consequences,” the minister said when announcing his resignation. His words are reported by the publication Belga news agency.
The incident occurred before the start of a football match between Belgium and Sweden. A man opened fire on fans. As a result, two people died. The attacker admitted to his crime and stated that he is a member of the Islamic State (IS, recognized as terrorist and banned in the Russian Federation). 17 October the shooter was killed in Brussels.
