Beto Abarza Makes History with Fifth Medal at Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games

The Chilean swimmer Alberto Abarza added his fifth medal in the Santiago 2023 Parapan American Gamesby keeping the money in the 100 meters freestyle of the S2 category.

With a time of 2:04.54 minutesthe legendary ‘Beto’ was only surpassed by the Brazilian and favorite Gabriel Dos Santos.

Dos Santos, in fact, broke the Pan American record with his time of 1 minute and 56.61 seconds.

The podium was completed by the Peruvian Rodrigo Santillan who, far behind the Chilean, finished the test in 2:18.92 minutes.

It is worth noting that this was Alberto Abarza’s last competition in Santiago 2023a competition in which he won five silver medals in Para Swimming.

So, ‘Beto’ established himself as the winningest Chilean in the history of the Parapan American Gameswith a total of 10 medals (three gold and seven silver).
