Beware of Slippery Conditions: Yellow Weather Alert Issued for Belgium Overnight

2024-01-11 20:57:00

During the evening, the night from Thursday to Friday and once more temporarily on Friday morning, light freezing drizzle from Germany and the Netherlands will reach Belgium.

These freezing drizzles might make roads slippery. This is why the Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM) issues a yellow alert on Thursday evening for slippery conditions across the entire territory, with the exception of the Coast.

The warning is valid until Friday, 8 a.m., in Brussels, Antwerp as well as in Walloon Brabant, Flemish Brabant and Limburg. It is extended until 9 a.m. in Hainaut and until 10 a.m. in the regions of Liège, Namur and Luxembourg. In West and East Flanders, it will remain in force until 7 a.m.
