Big Bazar wants to sell its Belgian branch and thus have enough funds to prevent its situation from deteriorating and try to save the Dutch chain of stores. She risks bankruptcy.

On Friday, during a hearing at the Leeuwarden court, the judge considered for the second time the company’s request for a cooling-off period to give it time to seek an agreement with its creditors, and then avoid bankruptcy.

Big Bazar has more than a hundred stores, including around ten in Belgium. To continue to fulfill its obligations in the coming weeks, the channel needs 3.5 million euros. According to the company, the agreement for the sale of the Belgian branch, and therefore the injection of the necessary capital, is almost finalized.
