Bineesh Kodiyeri Case: Karnataka High Court Stay Proceedings; Money Laundering Allegations Questioned

BENGALURU > The Karnataka High Court has stayed the proceedings of the trial court once morest Bineesh Kodiyeri in the alleged money laundering case. The Karnataka High Court has observed that the case taken by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) cannot stand. The High Court said prima facie the money laundering case cannot be sustained once morest Binish as he is not an accused in the drug smuggling case. With the case stayed, Bineesh will not have to appear in the trial court until the High Court proceedings are over. On October 29, 2020, the Enforcement Directorate dramatically arrested Binish by calling him to Bengaluru for questioning. Bineesh Kodiyeri was granted conditional bail by the Karnataka High Court following a year. So far the ED has not produced any evidence in the case. Read on deshabhimani.com
