A Boil Water Notice has been issued for teh Wexford town area effective immediately Wednesday, February 19. This notice comes as a precautionary measure for the health of approximately 22,000 customers, according too Uisce Éireann, Ireland’s water utility, and in consultation with the health service Executive (HSE).

customers can determine if their property is affected by checking the Water Quality section on the Uisce Éireann website, by inputting their property’s Eircode. A comprehensive map of the affected area is also available on the supply and service section of water.ie. For any immediate concerns or questions, Uisce Éireann’s 24/7 customer care helpline is available at 1800 278 278.

Uisce Éireann’s Technical Operations Manager for the region, Fionnuala Callery, emphasized the importance of prioritizing public health, stating, “Public health is Uisce Éireann’s number one priority and we would like to assure customers that the notice has been put in place to protect public health. we acknowledge the inconvenience caused to homes and businesses and would like to assure customers that we are working to resolve the issue and lift the notice as quickly and as safely possible.”

Drinking water experts at Uisce Éireann are actively monitoring the water quality and will lift the notice as soon as it is indeed safe to do so, in close collaboration with the HSE. Until the notice is lifted, all customers on this supply are advised to boil their water thoroughly before consuming it.
