Thiruvananthapuram: A bomber attacked a youth at Kazhakoottam Menankulam. The young man sustained serious injuries to his leg in the attack. Puthurajan Cletus (34) was injured in the backyard of Thumpa Puthuval.

The incident took place around 7.30 pm on Thursday. The bomber struck shortly following noon in front of a police station. Cletus was attacked while talking to his friends Siju and Sunil.

Cletus, who suffered a broken right leg in the bombing, was rushed to a medical college hospital.

Police said the attack was carried out by a drug mafia group. The attack was reportedly carried out by a group led by Leon Johnson, a native of Thumpa.
