The Ministry of Tourism, Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy and the Maison de l’Artisan have signed two partnership agreements with Royal Air Maroc (RAM) and with UPS Morocco. This event took place Tuesday November 21 in Rabat. These conventions were signed with the aim of applying preferential rates to the international transport of artisanal products.

The craft sector has an important role since 22% of the active population works there and it contributes in particular up to 7% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), declared Fatima Zahra Ammor, the Minister of Tourism, Crafts, and the Social and Solidarity Economy. The latter affirms that exports from this same sector have reached a record, i.e. 1 billion dirhams in 2022 and growth of 8% in 2023. The minister also added that this was thanks to the strengthening of competition as well as international communication.

For his part, Yassine Berrada, Vice-President Cargo at RAM, emphasized the fact that the agreement will allow artisans registered in the National Register of Crafts (RNA) to benefit from a preferential rate. For his part, the DG North Africa at UPS, Benoit Biard affirmed that the signed agreement will encourage international exports.
