Braine-l’Alleud: a professor under an order to leave the territory, despite his integration for nine years in Belgium

The news moved the students and teachers of Cardinal Mercier College: one of his teachers, a religion teacher, received an order to leave the territory. Originally from the Congo, David MBombo has lived in Belgium for nine years. A graduate of a Belgian university, he worked in a Brussels school before being hired in September 2022 in the brainoise school. As for many unnamed teachers, his contract was interrupted in July and August and that is what would have rendered his residence permit obsolete. “He did not work between July 1 and August 29, 2022. As his employment contract was interrupted, the Region no longer recognizes him as a worker and he should simply return to Congo.“, laments the director of the establishment, Xavier Cambron.
