Bread, pasta, cereals… Why their price will remain so high even if the price of wheat drops

A year ago, the price of European soft wheat peaked at 345 euros per tonne. Since then, it has fallen. The ton of cereals is exchanged today for around 230 euros, i.e. prices “similar to those of the summer of 2021”, notes Gautier Le Molgat, CEO of Argus media, a consulting firm on raw materials.
