: Wildfires are engulfing Canada’s northern regions. Thousands were evacuated Thursday from areas northwest of the city of Yellowknife. The authorities have advised over 20,000 locals to evacuate before noon on Friday. Efforts to put out the fire are underway under the leadership of fire rescue and emergency services. Yellowknife is one of the largest cities in northern Canada. The goal is to prevent fire from reaching here. The next two days will be crucial with the strong influence of northwesterly winds. There were 5783 forest fires in Canada this year. More than a thousand of these places have not yet been able to extinguish the fire. This year alone, 1.37 crore hectares of forest were burnt.
