The dispatching of the emergency services of Brabant received, Tuesday at 5:07 p.m., a call announcing that the fire had just broken out at the Haras de la ferme Rose, rue du Sartau, in Dion-le-Val (Chaumont-Gistoux). Firefighters from Wavre, Jodoigne and Overijse immediately headed to the scene with two pumpers, four tanks and a ladder. No one was injured and the horses that were in the buildings were able to be evacuated in time.
The fire started in a hay shed separated from the main building by two other warehouses, the first empty, the second also filled with hay. The fire was under control around 7:45 p.m.
The firefighters left the scene around 9:45 p.m. but had to return to the scene around night to ensure that there was no resumption of fire.
