Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been awarded a new mega contract. This is reported unanimously by US media, including NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
The 28-year-old is expected to collect a total of $210.6 million (around €197 million) from the Kansas City Chiefs over the next four years – more than anyone else in the history of the NFL during the same period.
Mahomes recently slipped to eighth place among the highest-paid players in the NFL. In 2020, the quarterback signed a ten-year contract worth $450 million (around €421 million), which has now been increased.
As expert Rapoport reports, Mahomes’ earnings might even increase to $218.1 million (around 204 million euros) over the four years if certain conditions apply.
The American is the face of the Chiefs. Last season he won the Super Bowl with Kansas. In doing so, he repeated the success of 2020. He was voted MVP both times.
