Many of you have reported to us, via the orange Alert us button, a “serious accident involving two pedestrians” on the R3 near Fontaine-l’Evêque.
Michel Mean, the spokesperson for the Hainaut East rescue zone confirms that, “two pedestrians who crossed the R3“were mowed down by a vehicle, specifying that it is”of a local couple in their forties“
According to our information, the emergency services were deployed around 11:10 p.m. and did not return until 3 a.m.
It is for this reason that traffic was closed in the direction of Heppignies, at kilometer marker 22. Access from the N54 Anderlues and the N90 Charleroi were also closed.
