The singer of the popular rock group Smash Mouth, Steve Harwell, has suffered from numerous health problems for several years and is now in palliative care.

This is reported by CBS News, quoting the artist’s manager, Robert Hayes, who confirms that Mr. Harwell is receiving end-of-life care at his home.

“My only additional comment would be that I hope people will respect Steve and his family’s privacy during this difficult time,” said Harwell’s rep.

According to TMZ, the singer would have received a visit from his relatives during the last three days in order to say a last goodbye to them.

56-year-old Steve Harwell is best known for the cult songs “All Star”, “I’m a Believer” and “Walking on the Sun” from his band Smash Mouth, which he co-founded in 1994.

He had been battling health issues for many years, including cardiomyopathy diagnosed in 2013, for which he was hospitalized in 2017, as well as liver failure.
