Breast Cancer Awareness: Côte-d’Or Firefighters Go Pink to Support the Cause in October

In order to participate in breast cancer awareness and prevention actions, all Côte-d’Or firefighters, professionals and volunteers, will wear a pink polo shirt on duty throughout the month of October.

This is a first in France. To mark the occasion during Pink October, a month dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer screening, SDIS 21 and its Health Service association have imagined a special system aimed at giving maximum visibility to this great cause.

For the occasion, in addition to the pink polo shirts distributed and worn by all the department’s firefighters, pink ribbons will also be placed on each rescue and victim assistance vehicle (VSAV).

A badge will also be sold to the department’s firefighters and the profits will be entirely donated to an association at the end of Pink October.

The device will be unveiled in Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur on October 28.
