Brigade members of the National Regeneration Movement Party (Morena) were physically assaulted and threatened with death in the municipality of Chiconamel, Veracruzwhere next March 27 there will be extraordinary elections.
The morenistas denounced that they were allegedly attacked tonight by followers of the PRD candidate for mayor, Alexander Sanchez Franco.
The state committee of Morena reported that its brigadistas were surrounded, beaten, damaged the vehicle in which they were traveling and threatened with death.
“In Morena, attacks on militants and supporters of the movement will not be tolerated and the PRD state leadership headed by Sergio Cadena Martínez is held responsible for these unfortunate acts, as well as for the safety and integrity of the candidate Jocelyne Franco Morales” .
The extraordinary elections will be held in four municipalities where the results of the last electoral process of June 6 of last year were annulled, due to various irregularities.
The elections will be held on March 27 in the municipalities of Jesús Carranza, Chiconamel, Amatitlán and Tlacotepec de Mejía.
