Three people were injured during a shooting along Avenue de la Toison d’Or, the Brussels-Capital/Ixelles police zone announced Wednesday evening.
“Around 7:30 p.m., we received reports of a shooting on Avenue de la Toison d’Or,” police spokesperson Ilse Van de Keere said. “Our services immediately went to the scene. Three people were injured. A perimeter was set up.”
When the police teams arrived, the perpetrator(s) were no longer at the scene. Several ambulances are on site to treat the injured. “We are in the process of making findings,” said another police spokesperson. The events allegedly took place near the Apple Store, between the Galerie de la Toison d’or and rue des Chevaliers.
The president of the Toison d’Or gallery traders’ association also indicated that around twenty people took refuge in the gallery, including an injured woman who was quickly taken care of by Siamu and the police. A panic ensued. The gallery was closed.
