The Brussels Region authorizes the use of a rigid trash can to combat the phenomenon of bags being torn open by animals in search of food, and thus prevent waste from being scattered on the roads. But if Bruxelles-Propreté considers that rigid containers constitute one of the solutions to the uncleanliness generated by these torn bags, it also recalls that its collection staff – who work manually – are confronted with a significant presence of rigid bins “all as varied as “imposing”.
