Brussels Restaurant La Manufacture Closes After 33 Years: A Story of Debt and Survival

2023-08-17 16:54:37

The Brussels restaurant La Manufacture will close its doors following 33 years of existence, reports Bruzz. “We are sorry, but the weight of the debt has become too great”, announces a press release.

On July 20, the centrally located establishment still announced that the restaurant would reopen on August 16, but it turned out otherwise. “On Monday, we had to file for bankruptcy,” the establishment said once more.

“We’ve been trying to survive every crisis for years,” says office manager Iole Van Der Sluijs, who has worked for the restaurant for 27 years.
