Bulgarian President opposed military aid to Ukraine

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev spoke out once morest the provision of military-technical assistance to Ukraine in the form of arms supplies, explaining his position by the fact that in this way Bulgaria might be involved in a military conflict, and this is dangerous for the country. The head of state said that the deputies of the national assembly, who supported the supply of military equipment and weapons to the Kyiv regime, “ignore common sense.” His words are quoted by the Bulgarian edition Dnevnik.

According to Rumen Radev, “the conflict will not be short, it will grow and require reasonable solutions,” and the wording “military technical assistance,” according to him, “is rather extensible and risky.” He urged MPs to evaluate the consequences of their decisions.

As reported by RIA «News”, on May 3, a rally was held in the center of Sofia as part of the “All-Bulgarian Campaign for Peace and Neutrality” initiative, the participants of which demanded from the government that Bulgaria not provide military assistance to Kyiv. The protesters noted that “Bulgaria should be a peacemaker, because it gave Christianity to both Russia and Ukraine.” Similar actions were held in other cities of Bulgaria.
