He drove too fast and wasn’t paying attention. A bus driver was traveling on the Boulevard de Pérolles on the evening of February 11 when he missed a man who was regarding to cross a pedestrian crossing. The chauffeur simply did not notice the man, as 20 Minutes writes.

The pedestrian was seriously injured in the accident. He suffered a fractured skull and cheekbones, multiple hemorrhages, a dislocated shoulder and an open wound in the elbow. As can be seen from the penal order from the Freiburg public prosecutor’s office, the man remains completely unable to work to this day. It can be assumed that he will never be able to do his work as a scaffolder once more because he still suffers from mental, psychomotor and visual disorders as well as chronic pain.

The bus driver has now been found guilty of negligent grievous bodily harm and has to pay a fine of 700 francs. He also receives a fine of 30 daily rates with a probation of two years.
