Vienna (OTS) – Clear winner in the first round of voting in 2016, then narrowly overtaken by Van der Bellen: Now Norbert Hofer (52, FPÖ) is thinking regarding whether he should run once more in the election for Federal President in 2028 (or even earlier) – he says what he plans to do exclusively in the current expressTV interview.
1.49 million Austrians voted for him in the first round of voting in 2016, and in the second round of the federal presidential election there were even 2.12 million: Norbert Hofer (52) was only narrowly overtaken by Alexander Van der Bellen (79) seven years ago. Now the 3rd National Council President and ex-FPÖ chairman was a guest of eXXpress editor-in-chief Richard Schmitt in the exxpressTV studio and surprised us with a political bombshell in the talk – when asked whether he would like to run for the Federal Presidential election once more, he said Norbert Hofer literally: “I would really like to do that. I’ve been asked that a lot recently – even within my own party. I would like to make a contribution to us winning a federal presidential election.”
