Canada wins 12-5 over Puerto Rico in Little League – RDS

Canada recorded its first victory of the Little League World Series on Saturday, winning 12-5 against Puerto Rico.

Canada trailed 3-0 after the first end before scoring 12 runs in the second. Puerto Ricans only scored two more runs in the fourth and couldn’t get any closer after that.

Eric Popovich and Blake Anderson led the Maple Leafs with two RBIs each. Ronan Bobiles recorded seven strikeouts while allowing five hits and three walks in 4 2/3 innings of work for the Surrey, B.C. team.

In the tournament’s first game, the Canadians lost 8-0 to Asia-Pacific on Wednesday. Canada’s next game will be against Mexico on Sunday. The tournament runs until August 25.
