A car caught fire on the Vienna-bound lane of the A1 late Wednesday evening near Ybbs (Melk district).

When the local fire brigade arrived, the vehicle was already fully engulfed in flames, and the emergency services carried out the extinguishing work using breathing apparatus.
Since leaking equipment kept catching fire, it was covered with foam, as FF Ybbs announced.
It was not immediately known why the car caught fire.
