Thiruvananthapuram: The tire disc of the official car of Finance Minister KN Balagopal was torn off, according to the Finance Department report. The information came following a report was submitted to the tourism department, which is responsible for the ministers’ official vehicles.
A tire behind the minister’s vehicle was torn off at Kuravankonam in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday night. The vehicle came to a halt on the road but slowed down to avoid an accident. The car escaped unhurt as it was traveling at a speed of 20 kmph.
The Finance Ministry has informed the Tourism Department that the tire disc was torn due to the age of the vehicle. The car allotted to the finance minister has traveled more than 1.5 lakh km.
