Baghdad / Obelisk: The coach of our national team, Jesus Casas, praised, on Thursday 12/01/2023, the level of the team and its victory over its Yemeni counterpart, stressing that the coaching staff and players are happy with the victory and the joy of the Iraqi fans.
Casas said in a press conference, followed by the obelisk, that despite the five-a-side and the happiness of the fans, the match was not easy, especially in the first half, indicating that the team played strongly, and the two goals scored by the Yemeni team were correct.
He added that the performance of the Iraqi team stabilized in the second half, especially following the third goal, which gave the players more confidence and made the task easier for us.
Casas indicated that he does not consider the team he will face in the semi-finals because all qualified teams are respectable, expecting a difficult match.
He explained that he was afraid of throwing the main players, as well as the players who had yellow cards, and preferred to park them on the bench in the first half so as not to lose them in the semi-finals in the event of injury or receiving cards.
