The Washington Post newspaper noted that “today, one of the bloodiest days for the Israeli army, the number of its deaths is close to a quarter of the total in the entire Gaza war in 2014, which lasted a month and a half.”

Earlier, the Israeli army announced the killing of 16 of its soldiers since the start of the ground operation in Gaza.

It is noteworthy that in the Gaza War in 2014, 2,251 Palestinians were killed, including 1,462 civilians, including 551 children and 299 women. In contrast, 66 Israeli soldiers and 5 civilians, including a child, were killed.
