Microsoft will provide free upgrades to Windows 10 and Windows 11 for some time. For users who have not yet upgraded, you will definitely want to know what people who have already upgraded think regarding it. As far as my friends are concerned, most of them are quite satisfied, but ” “Start Menu” is the one that most people complain regarding. Recently, foreign media also compiled the 10 most voted features in the feedback center as the most wanted changes and new features. Here is a list for your reference. Recently, foreign media Neowin compiled a list of the top ten functions that Windows 11 users hope to improve and add in the menu, sorted from the most popular votes to the bottom. Although I don’t know if Microsoft will really listen and change, but at least I know this. This is what most people are most dissatisfied with, and those who haven’t upgraded yet can also refer to it to see if this is what you care regarding the most. I find the Windows 11 Start menu difficult to use! These 9 features are currently voted by netizens as the most desired to be improved and added. 1. Close and delete the suggested block. In the Windows 11 menu, there is a suggested block at the bottom, which will display your recently used files. It seems that the intention is Okay, but for some people who value privacy, they definitely don’t want the recently used files to be known to others, especially if you opened that love action movie earlier. This feedback has actually existed for a long time, but it has not been successful so far. However, Microsoft is still kind enough to allow users to reduce the recommended block size. In versions following Build 22509, right-click on the start menu to start settings. can be found in . 2. Allow the Start Menu to be resized. Some users mentioned that the Windows Start Menu looks funny on some high-resolution screens. Even low-resolution users are in favor of allowing users to customize the Start Menu. The size is just like Windows 10, which I think is pretty good. After all, everyone has different preferences. Some people like it to be bigger, while others don’t want to take up too much space. Microsoft responded: “We heard you” 3. Return to the Windows 10-style Start Menu. I didn’t expect this to get more than 3,300 votes. Although the Windows 11 Start Menu has shortcomings, I don’t think it is so bad that Windows 10 can’t compare. It’s probably because many people are not used to it. Of course, this vote will basically not be accepted by Microsoft, and Microsoft’s reply felt a bit perfunctory (laughing): “We appreciate you taking the time to give feedback. If you have any specific suggestions to make the Windows 11 Start Menu more suitable for you, Please vote for those requests in the Feedback Hub as well.” 4. When you right-click on a pinned application in the Start menu, the recently used menu should be displayed. The Windows 11 Start menu often has some contradictions in its design, such as In the All Applications list, you can directly drag the application you want to pin to the toolbar, but you cannot do this for applications that have been pinned on the start menu homepage. In addition, in the list of all applications, clicking on some applications (such as Photoshop) will display recently used files for us to open quickly, but they are not displayed even if they are pinned to the home page of the start menu. 5. When you click Uninstall, it opens the old version of “Uninstall or Change Programs” instead of the current Settings App. This is also very strange. Microsoft has always wanted Windows 11 users to use new features, but they have designed them in the Start menu. When clicking Uninstall from the right-click menu of all applications, the old version of “Uninstall or Change Programs” will be opened instead of going to Uninstall in the settings. Although I think the old version is actually better than the new version (laughs). Although Microsoft has responded that this has been modified in Build 22621.2361, it did not mention this in the release document. It may only apply to Windows Insiders in the Canary/Dev channel. Neowin also mentioned that when using the 22621.2428 stable version to uninstall Win32 applications, the old version of the control panel will still open. 6. Change the vertical display mode of all applications to grid and enter the list of all applications. You will find that more than 3/2 of the blocks on the right side are blank and useless. The more you use, the current vertical display method requires you to scroll down all the time, which is a waste of time. If you can change it to a grid display, it will not only use the space more efficiently, but also find the applications you need faster. Microsoft says we hear you. 7. When you open the Start Menu, the list of all applications will be directly displayed. Currently, when the Start Menu is opened, only the applications that have been pinned will be displayed. If you want to use those that have not been pinned, you need to go to the All Applications list to find a certain application. Some users don’t like this second-layer design very much. There are regarding 1,100+ votes. This is just a matter of personal preference. I like the current design better. Microsoft says we hear you. 8. Added a full-screen start menu. I guess the person who made this suggestion should be a user switching from Mac to Windows. I don’t like this very much, because following using Windows for a long time, more and more applications must be installed, and the use is different from that of Mac. It’s very different. There are so many free software and tools in Windows that you can install a lot of them without even realizing it. It should be difficult to find them on a full screen. Microsoft says we hear you. 9. Add dynamic bricks back. Although the evaluation of dynamic bricks is not very good, there are still a group of supporters who want to use it in Windows 11. But what is special is that everyone is asking for dynamic bricks, but Microsoft has replied that it recommends using small bricks. Tools, the two should be completely different things. Microsoft responded: “Thank you for your valuable suggestions. We will continue to optimize functions with reference to user feedback, and recommend that you try our new, more interactive gadgets on Windows 11 to get a similar experience to the Start Live Brick.” Use experience. ” In summary, although Microsoft has responded and said that it has heard most of the suggested features, it is not clear whether these features will actually be improved or added in the future. There is a high chance that they will continue as usual, and there are also some rumors regarding Windows 12 recently. If there is a new system version, Microsoft will not add or improve any features for Windows 11, or it will follow Windows 12. Source: Neowin

Kraus-Winkler: Energy cost subsidy II secures added value and jobs
2023-10-17 14:25:36
Relief from energy costs strengthens the small-scale tourism industry
Wien (OTS/BMAW) – “In view of the high energy prices, the federal government has taken numerous measures in the past to relieve the burden on households and businesses. Especially in times of persistent inflation, we must ensure the competitiveness of domestic companies, including tourism businesses, and strengthen Austria as a business location. With the energy cost subsidy II, we are creating the important relief in energy costs, which also benefits tourism companies,” said Tourism State Secretary Susanne Kraus-Winkler.
Since yesterday until November 2, 2023 Companies can pre-register for the energy cost subsidy II via the Austria Wirtschaftsservice GmbH (aws) website. The application phase for 2023 will – subject to approval by the EU Commission – am 09. November start. In contrast to the energy cost subsidy I, the funding intensity in the lowest level is increased to 50 percent. In addition, the entry criterion of energy intensity is no longer applicable in the first two stages. Cost shares that have already been passed on in prices are excluded from funding.
“The summer season so far has gone well despite challenges with 60.06 million overnight stays (+1.8 percent compared to 2019). The prospects for winter tourism are also more than positive, with 20 million potential guests currently planning a winter holiday in Austria, as shown by the new potential study by Austria archyde news. Tourism is once once more proving to be a stable industry in challenging times. This upswing must be continued. With the energy cost subsidy II, we are securing added value in tourism and, in the long term, jobs in the industry,” says Kraus-Winkler.
