The federal police announced this Monday morning that they had found the lifeless body of Jeanine Fabry, an octogenarian from Auderghem who disappeared on October 7. The Brussels public prosecutor’s office has just given details of the investigation. “The laboratory of the Federal Judicial Police in Brussels carried out searches in the home of the missing woman. On site, they found traces of blood, attempts to erase and clean the clues, without any presence of the missing person, indicating possible intervention by third parties.
“Different duties were carried out, namely, hearings, an in-depth neighborhood investigation, searches for surveillance cameras, their operation and three deprivations of liberty.”
”This Saturday, October 14, one of them confessed during a second hearing. At the end of this, the suspect indicated the place where he had hidden the victim’s body on October 8, 160 km from his home. The suspect was made available to the investigating judge on October 15, who placed him under arrest warrant.”
The prosecution specifies that this case takes place in the family sphere of the victim.

The UN Security Council will meet on Monday at midnight (Swiss time) to decide on the conflict between Israel and Hamas, the United Nations has confirmed. Diplomatic sources speak of two competing draft resolutions.
Russia circulated to Council member states on Friday a draft resolution to be put to a vote and which calls for an ‘immediate, lasting and fully respected humanitarian ceasefire’ and ‘unhindered’ humanitarian access to the Gaza Strip under siege, according to these sources.
Brazil, which chairs the Council this month, will also submit a text which condemns ‘the heinous terrorist attacks of Hamas’, we also learned from diplomatic sources.
But until Sunday, the draft resolution did not designate Hamas, while the United States in particular insisted that the Security Council clearly condemn the “heinous terrorist acts” of the Palestinian Islamist movement which launched an October 7 attack on an unprecedented scale once morest Israel.
To be adopted, a resolution requires the approval of at least 9 of the 15 members of the Council, without a veto from one of the five permanent members (United States, United Kingdom, France, Russia, China).

Montevideo, Oct 16 (Prensa Latina) A report sponsored by the Ministry of Social Development shows here today a situation of deterioration in terms of well-being and mental health in young people and adolescents.
The research shows that in these age groups many “feel sad or hopeless to the point of stopping doing their activities,” commented the director of the National Youth Institute (INJU), Felipe Paullier.
The Youth Panel report, as part of the National Survey of Adolescence and Youth, was presented jointly with the INJU and the United Nations Population Fund.
The research allows us to observe behaviors in moments such as the exit of young people from the educational system, entry into the labor market, leaving the home of origin, beginning of reproductive life, as well as well-being and mental health.
The study indicates that there is a postponement in terms of age in achieving the main milestones of transition to adult life.
The postponement of the age at which formal studies are interrupted translates into a tendency to remain within the educational system longer, which is why the proportions of course attendance are higher in 2022 than in young people aged 16 to 19 in 2018. and 2013.
On the contrary, in entering the labor market a decreasing trend is observed among the surveys.
The same occurs with the proportion of those who experience the transition to adulthood regarding forming their own home.
There is also a lower proportion of people satisfied with their personal economic situation in 2022 (37.1 percent) compared to four years earlier (81.0 percent). The same happens with the reality of the home economy.
The proportions of young people between 16 and 19 years old who report, in the last twelve months, having suffered some type of violence, abuse and discrimination, are relatively high, the report states.
