Meta started showing a carousel with suggestions from Threads on Instagram to increase audience engagement with the platform. Some users have posted screenshots that show a carousel called “For you on Threads” followed by the open app button in another tab.
The suggestions appear amid the Instagram home publications. Some users say that this interference only appeared once this Thursday (31), which may only demonstrate a testing period carried out by the platform teams.
The test was confirmed by Meta to TechCrunch. “We’ve added a number of new features to the app since launch and are now making it easier for people to see the latest Threads content right on Instagram,” said a company spokesperson.
Earlier this month, Meta added a “Send to Instagram DM” button in Threads to share posts with users on Instagram. Other measures were the launch of the web version and the testing of a more improved search.
As Archyde.com reported earlier this month, at an internal company meeting, Chief Product Officer Chris Cox said that to combat the drop in Threads numbers, the company would add “hooks that drive retention” such as “ensuring that people who are on Instagram can see important topics.”
