[Ming Pao Special News]”Hong Kong Motors Northward” will be implemented on July 1. Our reporter found that the only vehicle inspection center of China Inspection Co., Ltd. (CCIC) that provides cross-border vehicle inspection services has not All reservations for the 30th are fully booked. In response to external concerns regarding whether the cross-border vehicle inspection service can be implemented in a timely manner, Chief Executive Lee Ka-chao responded yesterday that he understands that the current vehicle inspection capacity is sufficient, but believes that demand will increase. He has asked the Transport and Logistics Bureau to discuss with relevant mainland authorities. According to his understanding, the Mainland authorities “have already had some ideas”, and I believe they will actively monitor the situation and take appropriate measures. Some truck drivers from China and Hong Kong said that cross-border trucks need to go to China for vehicle inspection every year. They are worried that following the launch of Hong Kong Motors Northward, it will be difficult to compete with a large number of private cars for the inspection schedule, or it will affect “food shopping.”

Federal government wants to strengthen voluntary work with a package of measures – domestic
2023-05-03 17:35:51
Vienna – The government presented a package to strengthen voluntary work on Wednesday. The framework conditions for non-profit organizations and voluntary work are to be improved. Participants in the Voluntary Social Year (FSJ) and the Voluntary Environmental Protection Year (FUJ) will in future receive 500 instead of 270 euros per month. In addition, the reform of the Volunteer Act should bring a nationwide service point for volunteers and volunteer centers.

Toyota has confirmed a very special detail for the new 2024 Tacoma
2023-05-03 15:07:37
Toyota has confirmed that the upcoming 2024 Tacoma will keep its manual transmission. With scant details, the automaker recently teased the latest-generation Tacoma with a single image, one showing three pedals for the new Tacoma.

With this saying:
“Legends are more than automatic; they always come in clutch. The all-new 2024 Toyota Tacoma, available with a six-speed manual transmission. Stay tuned for more,” Toyota said.
The only real detail here, other than confirmation of the new truck’s transmission, is the number of forward gears.
A release date for the Tacoma has not yet been specified. The transmission will likely be derived from the last one offered in the current Tacoma. Toyota might also include a low-speed idle like Ford has done with the Bronco manual.
Toyota named an off-road version of the Tacoma, which it calls the Trailhunter. It’s not hard to imagine that the manual transmission will figure prominently in the brand’s most enthusiastic versions of the new Tacoma, which is also rumored to have a hybrid powertrain.
For now, it’s hard to get any information on the new truck, but the truck’s debut isn’t far off.

Toyota has a new CEO
Koji Sato replaced longtime CEO Akio Toyoda as head of the brand, and Toyoda stepped down as president.
It is well known that Toyoda prompted the company to develop its Gazoo Racing (GR) sports brand both on and off the race track.
Now in his new role, Sato has hinted that the ex-CEO will have more in store for his performance brands, including Toyota Racing Development (TRD) and GR.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić Wants Criminal Liability To Drop From 14 To 12 Years. Other Measures Required After the School Massacre
2023-05-03 17:30:20
One of these specifically concerns the provision in the criminal code due to which the 13-year-old attacker will not be held criminally responsible for his actions. Vucic requested that the legislation be amended so that criminal responsibility starts at 12 years of age.
Kosta Kecmanović, the 7th grader who killed eight classmates and a security guard, was born on July 30, 2009, so he was not yet 14 years old. According to the Serbian Law on Juvenile Offenders and Criminal Protection of Minors, children under the age of 14 cannot be prosecuted. Instead, his parents, who have already been arrested, will face criminal charges.
“Right now, the boy is in a special place and will be placed in a special department of a psychiatric clinic,” Vucit was quoted as saying by the Archyde.com news agency.
Other measures proposed by the Serbian president concern how gun permits are issued, how those who have withheld them hold them, and criminal liability for those who teach minors and unauthorized persons to use weapons.
“I will grant myself the right to propose measures as president, except in the case of hunting weapons,” said Vucic.

Among the measures announced by Vucic are:
- the introduction of new legislation on the keeping and bearing of arms in the following which will introduce a moratorium for two years;
- verification of all gun licenses issued;
- controlling the operation mode of all firing ranges;
- controlling how the permit holders keep the weapons, whether the weapons and ammunition are properly protected from minors and other unauthorized persons;
- criminal liability for persons who allow minors and other unauthorized persons to possess firearms or who teach minors and other unauthorized persons to handle firearms;
- reducing the age limit for criminal liability of minors from 14 to 12 years, in accordance with international and European standards;
- tightening of sanctions for non-compliance with legal obligations towards media service providers – including internet, television, social networks;
- introducing mandatory six-month drug tests in high schools;
- the organization of special services and mobile teams for violence within the Social Assistance Centers to respond promptly to cases of violence;
- banning access to “dark net” and similar sites that contain advice on how to commit a crime, obtain drugs or weapons.

Canadian author Jordan Peterson, in Romania: “Today, a parliamentarian told me that 70% of laws are drafted in Brussels. A very bad idea”
The student carried out the attack with a 9 mm pistol taken from his father’s apartment. On his way to school, he prepared four Molotov cocktails, according to Serbian police. When he arrived at the school, he took out his gun and shot the guard, then the student on duty, then went to the classroom where the history class was being held, where he shot the teacher, who is in serious condition, then started shooting at the students.
According to officials, the boy himself called the police to report that he had killed his classmates and said he had been planning the attack for a month. A list was found on him, on which he had written the names of the children he wanted to kill. The reason remains unknown.
In addition to the 51-year-old security guard, seven girls and one boy were killed in the school attack, a Serbian police spokesman told a news conference. Four other boys and two girls were injured. The victims are between 12 and 14 years old.
