As we reported at the beginning of the week, the Apple announced that it would pause the sale of Apple Watches Series 9 and Ultra 2 in the United States following a whole mess caused by a fight with the company Fields involving patents.
The allegation is that Apple stole trade secrets and violated inventions of the pulse blood oximeter technology present in the Cupertino giant’s smartwatches.
Well, the day for this pause in online sales has arrived and, apparently, some watch models are already unavailable for purchase even before the time determined by Apple — which would be from 5 pm Brasília time.
In a quick search on the company’s website, we can see that there are several settings that already contain information regarding “Currently Unavailable” (or “Currently Unavailable”).
Anyone who wants to purchase one of the watches will have to pick it up at one of the Apple stores where the model is listed as available — or at an authorized reseller, while supplies last.
Among the models in this category, we have the Series 9 (41mm) with GPS + Cellular connection in pink, silver and red, as well as certain models with a stainless steel case.
Regarding the Ultra 2, there are models with Trail and Ocean loop bracelets affected. In addition to the “Currently Unavailable” information, there is, in other cases, a message that the order can be picked up in store following a certain period. This implies that delivery cannot be made to your door.
As it is worth remembering, this pause in sales begins today on the Maçã website, but anyone who wants to can still purchase an Apple Watch until December 24th (Christmas Eve) physically in one of the company’s stores. It will also be possible to purchase a model from retailers such as Amazon and Best Buy, which will sell these models while stocks last — as the import of new units has also been suspended.
Furthermore, the measure does not affect the Apple Watch SE, the only one in the line to not have a blood oxygenation level sensor.
