After being eliminated from the playoffs, Los Angeles parted ways with head coach and general manager Tom Telesco.
The Los Angeles Chargers decided to prematurely end the era of head coach Brandon Staley.
This Friday the Chargers announced the dismissal of the coach, who was in his third year leading the team, in addition to the departure of general manager Tom Telesco.
Los Angeles’ decision comes following a 63-21 blowout loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday night, which left the Chargers stuck at 5-9 and all but eliminated from the playoff race.

Brandon Staley secured his first season with a losing record at the helm of the Chargers and went 24-24 in the regular season and 0-1 in the playoffs, in his only appearance – last season – he lost in the Wild Card Round once morest the Jacksonville Jaguars following taking a 27-0 lead in the second quarter.

The Chargers hired Brandon Staley as head coach for the 2021 season following the firing of Anthony Lynn.
Brandon Staley, who had been the Chargers’ defensive coordinator in 2020, was never able to build a solid unit in Los Angeles, finishing 29th in points allowed and 23rd in yards allowed in 2021, in 2022 his positions were No. 21 and No. 20, this year it is in the No. 17 place in points allowed and No. 29 in yards accepted.
This is only the second time in history that the Chargers have fired a head coach midseason.
The Bolts fired Kevin Gilbride following their 1998 Week 6, 7-6 loss, also to the Raiders, which represented their fourth consecutive loss in a 2-4 start.
