Salé – The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) sealed, Wednesday in Salé, a strategic partnership with the aim of promoting Morocco as a destination through football.

Capitalizing on the global impact generated by the historic exploits of the Atlas Lions during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, this partnership signed by the President of the FRMF, Fouzi Lekjaa, and the Director General of the ONMT , Adel El Fakir, covers the period 2023-2030.

Thus, this historic agreement provides for actions aimed at promoting football and Morocco as a destination both nationally and internationally, in particular through the integration of the football dimension in the next ONMT campaigns.

The Office also undertakes to support the FRMF for inclusive and concerted communication around sports tourism in Morocco, in addition to the integration of national teams in the various communication tools produced by the ONMT.

For its part, the FRMF undertakes to guarantee to the ONMT, in its capacity as official partner, the rights of visibility during football matches on the screens, panels, digital platforms of the FRMF, as well as its media. communication and any other device.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Federation is also called upon to guarantee additional visibility to the ONMT through the “Branding” of the training shirts and tracksuits of the National Selections as well as the additional devices at the edge of the field.

For the President of the FRMF, “this strategic partnership capitalizes on Morocco’s achievements in the football field under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty the King. This alliance with the ONMT thus supports the strategy of the Federation in terms of promoting Moroccan football and providing it with the necessary expertise to conquer the world together through our noble missions”.

For his part, the CEO of the ONMT noted that “the Office is honored today to work alongside the Royal Moroccan Football Federation to promote Morocco and its sports tourism at the national and international levels. The last heroic performance of the national team at the Qatar World Cup generated more than 130 million interactions around Morocco content. Today, the main part of our work will be to perpetuate this enthusiasm so that the Moroccan flag continues to shine in the firmament and continue to inspire the four corners of the planet”.

Thus through this strategic partnership, the FRMF and the ONMT intend to make football a lever for promoting tourism in Morocco, while strengthening the image of the Kingdom, “Morocco, land of Light” but also Morocco, “Land of football”. where major sporting events are organized such as the recent Club World Cup in Rabat and Tangier, the Women’s African Cup or other continental and planetary events.

This partnership is also part of the dynamics of the tripartite candidacy of Morocco with Spain and Portugal for the organization of the 2030 Football World Cup.

SNCF will continue to compensate its users in the event of delays due to exceptional circumstances. However, a new European text allows it to abolish these refunds from this Wednesday, reports The Parisian.

Today, the SNCF allows travelers to obtain financial compensation of up to 25% of the ticket price in the event of a delay of more than one hour. This compensation even reaches 50% of the ticket price if the delay exceeds two hours. The circumstances used for this compensation are climatic hazards and human hazards, also called “traveller incidents”.

Relief for travelers

But since Wednesday, a European text that came into force in France allows railway companies to no longer reimburse or compensate travelers in the event of “exceptional circumstances”, beyond their control. A measure that should allow companies to save money.

Contrary to this text, the SNCF has decided to keep its compensation rules in the event of exceptional circumstances. “We will continue to compensate travelers as today, including for exceptional external causes,” said the French company, which already partially reimburses its users in the event of a delay of more than 30 minutes.

The decision delighted the National Federation of Associations of Transport Users (Fnaut), which however points the finger at the entry into force of this text in France. “The government has retained most of the possible exceptions”, explains the vice-president of Fnaut to the Parisiandenouncing the alignment of railway law with air law “while a railway company […] is not subject to the vagaries of the weather like an airline”.
