The Columbus Blue Jackets have announced the firing of head coach Brad Larsen, who had been at the helm of the team for two seasons. The team also announced that goaltending coach Manny Legace’s contract would not be renewed.
Larsen had taken over as head coach ahead of the 2021-22 season, but had been on the team’s coaching staff since 2014-15. He had served as assistant coach to Todd Richards as well as John Tortorella, before taking charge of the team.
Columbus finished the 2022-23 season ranked 31st overall in the NHL this season, with a record of 25-48-9.
