In previous days, a false survey caused a stir in the political environment of the department, specifically in Pereira and its metropolitan area, since this type of “play” continues to be presented and surely with greater frequency between now and October. Now it turns out that apparently some pre-candidates for mayor of Dosquebradas, with the support of […]

PARIS (Archyde.com) -France faced a new day of street protests on Thursday over President Emmanuel Macron’s plans to make people work longer for their pension, as striking workers disrupted garbage collection in Paris and blocked river traffic on part of the Rhine river.
Trade unions urged a show of force on the streets a day before the Constitutional Council’s ruling on the legality of the bill that would raise the retirement age by two years to 64.
If the Council gives its approval, possibly with some caveats, the government will be entitled to promulgate the law, and will hope this will eventually put an end to protests, which have at times turned violent, and coalesced widespread anger once morest Macron.
In a 12th day of nationwide protests since strikes began in mid-January, demonstrators briefly blocked an access road to the Council with rubbish bins, hanging a banner across the street reading “Constitutional Censorship”.
The industrial action has lost some steam and the protests have rallied thinner crowds in past weeks compared with the more-than 1 million-strong numbers seen earlier in the movement.
But unions remained defiant.
“This is certainly not the last day of the strike,” Sophie Binet, the new leader of the hard-left CGT union, said at blockade of an incinerator outside Paris.
Macron must withdraw this law, “or he won’t be able to govern the country,” she said.
“Incinerator workers, garbage collectors, are on strike until further notice, until the withdrawal of the pension reform,” said CGT unionist Loic Gefrotin, on the picket lines of another trash treatment plant in the Paris region, in Issy-les-Moulineaux.
Macron said he would organise a meeting with unions following the Council’s decision to start working on other proposals — an initiative the CGT said would be short-lived if he was not ready to discuss withdrawing the pension reform.
“The country must continue to move forward, work, and face the challenges that await us,” Macron told a news conference late on Wednesday.
DISCONTENT
Political observers have said the widespread discontent over the government’s reform might have longer-term repercussions, including a possible boost for the far right.
“I’m not that optimistic regarding the Constitutional Council’s decision,” far-right leader Marine Le Pen, who opposes the pension legislation, told BFM TV. “But what do you want me to do? Burn cars? We’ll just tell the French: Vote for the National Rally.”
Macron and his government argue the law is essential to ensure that France’s generous pension system does not go bust.
Unions say this can be done by other means, including taxing the rich more, or making deeper changes to the pension system.
Earlier this week, refining operations resumed at TotalEnergies’ Gonfreville refinery, France’s largest by barrels-per-day, the last of the company’s domestic refineries to restart following a month-long shut down.
Some deliveries of refined products from two of those sites were disrupted on Thursday, a TotalEnergies spokesperson said.
On the Rhine river, cargo traffic was disrupted following workers cut power at a waterway lock near the border with Germany and Switzerland and run by France’s state-owned energy company EDF (EPA:), a union official told Archyde.com.
The business vote opted for Larreta, but the field is with Bullrich
He relief in it business world by détente of the inmate of Together for Change it was noticed. The closure of lunch at the Central de la Rural restaurant was full of smiles, following the former president Mauricio Macri will refocus his criticism of Kirchnerism and, just as he passed by, he pointed out the discomfort with the Buenos Aires head of government, Horacio Rodriguez Larreta. Happens that the red circle is played in favor of the return of the opposing alliance to the Casa Rosada, but maintains preferences between the two main pre-candidates who are vying for power within the opposition party.
In it ciciphe qualified vote of the red circle aligned with Rodríguez Larreta. The selective survey that PROFILE showed a predilection for the Buenos Aires head of government due to “his management capacitybut especially, because it has a positive view of productive activity, something that Patricia (Bullrich)), No”. “If she wins the internship, there are many investment projects that will come into stand by”, an industrial businessman, present at the conference, was alarmed. However, this idea is not the same among all the members of the Argentine Industrial Union (UIA), because identified in the larretista ranks former second-line officials during the Macri administration who “have thirst for revenge with the industry”.
Mauricio Macri on Milei: “We are going to go to a second round with this more liberal and angry expression”
Those who are on the sidewalk in front, among those who place their bets on the internal PRO, come with good eyes the presence of some technical advisors who have ancestry in the manufacturing world. Even so, businessmen in the productive sector They believe that Larreta is the candidate with the greatest development of projects for each sector and with the capacity to dialogue. “He is the only one who can build bridges to win votes in Congress and sanction the laws that are necessary,” admitted a trader. “Here, the majority of us want Horacio to win”made clear one of the diners of the exclusive lunch.
Bullrich won the appalusometer
Where Bullrich yes he stayed with them applause and most voting intentionsin an election in the PASO, it was in the Buenos Aires cradle of the chacareros of the Rural Societywhere they applauded her every time they were promised zero withholdings and devaluation, via elimination of the different exchange rates. “I have the political decision, the firmness and the character; They are the hallmarks of the coming government. Without withholdings, by the year 2030 it grows to 38%; with withholdings, at 6%. That is more of the private world and less of the State”, promised Bullrich, who also anticipated a sharp cut in public accounts: “It is more important to grow than to try to maintain a State that puts a paw on us”.
No one lost sight of the fact that, a few minutes later, the parade of pre-candidates began. From the restaurant to the Red Pavilion auditorium, the heads of the Group of Six (G6) mobilized: Mario Grinman (Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services); Adelmo Gabbi (Buenos Aires Stock Exchange); Gustavo Weiss (Argentine Chamber of Construction); Javier Bolzico (Association of Argentine Banks); Daniel Funes de Rioja (UIA); besides the host Nicholas Pino (Argentine Rural Society).
Larreta dismissed the PRO internship in La Rural, but clarified: “Not all of us think alike”
“Macri seriously raised the possibility that (Javier) Milei goes to a ballotage with the candidate of Together for Change. Either the anger-vote is very strong, or it is trying to install the disappearance of Kirchnerism. But the reality is that the economic problems are so acute that it is no longer a speech from an outsider, but of a leader who is treated with more seriousness”, analyzed the president of one of the G6 entities. In fact, the libertarian made the applause of the rural audience grow every time he criticized the weight of the State over the rural sectors.
The red circle shows its teeth to the Government
In the marathon day at the Palermo fairgrounds, he establishment began to show his teeth before the national government, to which they attribute the responsibility for the loss of profitability, paralysis of some sectors of the activity and drop in profitability due to price controls and inflation. As few times, the speech of the business audience was forceful: “the country is adrift”. The sentence was issued by the president of the Inter-American Council of Commerce and Production (Cicyp), Marcos Peredawho predicted to Macri that JxC “has a real chance of coming to power on December 10.”
“A huge fiscal deficit. A stifling tax pressure. An inflation that lacerates everyone, but especially the most vulnerable. A inability to sustain currency value, plunging the country into an exchange rate fest. A constant siege of employers. The destruction of international markets. The lack of legal guarantees to promote a healthy business climate. The insecurity and drug trafficking, which threaten people’s lives on a daily basis. An interior of the country that has lost more than double what it invests per year for a century-old drought, while it continues to be the agricultural sectorthe most discriminated and punished with distorting, regressive and confiscatory taxes”, diagnosed Pereda, who is also vice president of the Rural Society.
The return of Cicyp in critical mode
A businessman, owner of a group of agro-industrial businesses, was “conformed” with the return of sharp speeches to Cicyp. “The style he used to wear is back (Eduardo) Eurnekian”, he was happy, in dialogue with PROFILE. Despite this feeling, the crude scenario proposed by Pereda is also endorsed by the sectors that make up the powerful G-6, since several of the businessmen who participated in the lunch at La Rural admitted to being “disappointed” of the management of Sergio Massa at the head of the Ministry of Economy. For that part of the productive world, grace time for the head of the Palacio de Hacienda seemed to be over.
“The State stole US$500,000 million”: Milei deluded the field with eliminating withholdings
Macriin the talk that he had at the table with the businessmen, in the lunch time that took place between his introductory speech and the questions from the public, confessed that he saw a Rodríguez Larreta more determined towards the agreements parliamentarians with other political forces, and a Bullrich with a more inflexible profile to make drastic decisions that he intends to establish with his eventual rise to power. He did not say, however, which profile he preferred, although his sparks over the way of election in the City of Buenos Aires, left more support for the PRO hawks in the air.
The head of one of the G6 entities, however, was left with a different impression: “He seemed to make it clear that he will not play in favor of anyone. Having lowered the tension and turning his criticism towards Kirchnerism, he once once more established himself as a player above the internal ”. There was agreement among the rest of the private sector representatives who was in the conclave, who, equally, they played their bets and began to place their candidate chips.
