Regulars of the small shopping center in Piscop (Val-d’Oise) are discovering the new brand which wants to tackle waste. Some stick a head inside, others cross the threshold and browse the shelves of the minimally decorated store that opened its doors on Wednesday. Prix’Miam displays on its facade its “anti-gaspi” positioning which smacks of the 1970s and the first oil shock, and is coming back into favor today at a time of inflation and loss of purchasing power.
Reinis Zariņš, a musician, mystic and ruler of the piano, will play music in the dark!
April 10 at 4 p.m Dark Cultures pianist Reinis Zariņš will play music in the house. The concert program “Pilgrims of Light” was created especially for Easter. In it, we will hear the music of Andrej Selicks, John Tavener, Komitas, Arvo Pert, Richard Dubra, Johann Sebastian Bach and Brad Meldav.
Reinis Zariņš knows how to explore the deepest secrets of art and life in order to give us unique, unforgettable interpretations. He is a multiple laureate of the Great Music Prize, has performed in many notable concert halls of the world, is a sought-following musician in the Baltic countries and elsewhere, a strong thinker and a unique virtuoso, a musician of the “Trio Palladio”, a mystic and a master of the piano.
The pianist says regarding the new program: “I have watched quite a few composers. And some of them I now call pilgrims. Their destination is the Light that illuminates the darkness of the world. They only dwell here as strangers while on their way to the Heavenly Homeland. They reach out to the Creator, and in their music they sometimes seem to reach out, to touch for a moment, to perceive. And then shares with us so that there are as many pilgrims of Light as possible.
I originally created this program as a tribute to composers-pilgrims from Latvia. And that would have been enough, but over time I met more and more new composers-pilgrims from other nations and remembered those who had already reached their destination. And that’s why the concert will meet authors not only from different countries, but also each from his own tradition – and it is this diversity, these very different travel notes for the pedestrians of the same road that fascinates me, so I, as a fellow traveler, want to share their insights with the listeners.”
The alpha and omega of the Easter concert program will include the pious miniatures of the mystic Andrejs Selicks, which will cover the concert, and in the middle – the Great Christmas troparion or hymn of the Eastern Orthodox Church by the English seer John Tavener, the Armenian classic Komitas’s “Dzurve”, Arvo Pert’s variations dedicated to his daughter Arina, Riharda Dubras “Easter Morning Prayer” and there will also be Johann Sebastian Bach with “Prelude” and Fugue in Solminor from Book II of “The Well-Tempered Clavier”, followed by an echo of the same Prelude and Fugue composed by American jazz pianist Brad Meldav. All in all, an exciting sacred adventure awaits.
The concert takes place within the cycle “Piano Music Spring”. Its first concert with the participation of pianist Daumantas Liepiņš already took place on March 7, and the last one is planned for May 1 at 4:00 p.m., when the pianist, laureate of international competitions and resident of our region, Aurelija Šimkus, will play in the Tume Culture House.
Entrance to the concert – 10 euros. Tickets are available in advance and on the day of the concert at Tume Culture House. Phone for reservation: 26332401.
The concerts are organized by the association “Koris “Noktirne”” in cooperation with Tume Culture House. The project is implemented with the support of the municipality of Tukuma region and the State Cultural Capital Fund.
