Prevalon and REPT announce partnership agreement to deploy battery energy storage systems in the Americas

Prevalon Energy LLC (Prevalon), a joint venture between Mitsubishi Power Americas and EES, announced a new partnership agreement with REPT BATTERO Energy Co., Ltd. (REPT) to deploy battery energy storage systems (BESS ) in the Americas region. Additionally, the contract designates Prevalon as the service provider for the REPT battery module fleet in the Americas.

To date, Prevalon has successfully deployed 1.5 GWh of battery storage systems in North and South America using REPT battery cells. The companies are now taking the next step in their expansion partnership that aims for a near-term 10 GWh deployment in the Americas. Prevalon and REPT will work together to customize the system, satisfy market demands and ensure perfect integration between components. Teams have been cooperating to improve functionality, security, and use case constructability through deep engineering cooperation.
Prevalon’s new high-density (HD) 511 integrated energy storage platform is the company’s most dense, modular and scalable energy storage solution to date. The HD 511 will feature new long-form modules from REPT, built around the best-in-class 320 Ah Wending LFP battery. Featuring REPT’s proprietary Wending technology, designed to extend charging cycle and increase performance, Prevalon BESS will achieve an impressive system energy density of 360 MWh per acre.
The system is factory integrated and tested before delivery to site as complete assemblies, which include factory-installed battery modules. To ensure site safety, passive and active fire detection and suppression systems are implemented. Prevalon’s proven energy management system provides seamless control integration through a utility-grade, US-designed and built system that maintains the highest standards of cybersecurity compliance.

More than 500 performances will be programmed in 13 different rooms
The City of Buenos Aires will become, from April 17 to 28, the main stage of BAFICI 2024, the most relevant independent film festival in the region. For twelve days, this cinematographic event, organized by the Ministry of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires, will offer more than 500 performances throughout 13 rooms, in a celebration that marks the 25th anniversary of the festival.
This year’s edition stands out for its diverse programming, with films ranging from dramas and comedies to documentaries and experimental proposals. In addition, BAFICI will provide a platform for world premieres and will feature the participation of both local and international filmmakers, who will have the opportunity to interact with the public in various parallel activities. The San Martín Theater will be the heart of the festival, serving as the main meeting point and venue for significant events, including master classes and a coworking space for accredited attendees.
The collaboration between the public and private sectors has allowed us to extend the reach of the festival, programming screenings in complexes such as Cinépolis de Plaza Houssay and Cine Arte Cacodelphia, in order to bring independent cinema closer to a wider audience. Among the featured films of this edition are The Passion by Lorenzo Ferro and Lucas A. Vignale, The Joy by Tomás Pernich and The Eye of the Monster by María Luján Ascúe.
Films of various genres decorate the 25th anniversary of BAFICI
The opening film, School Privada Alfonsina Storni by Lucía Seles, and the closing film, Fuck You! José Luis García’s last show promises to be highlights of the festival. There will also be three competitive sections: International Competition, Argentine Competition and Avant-garde and Genre Competition, where short and feature films will compete for prestigious awards that reflect the quality and diversity of global independent cinema. The BAFICI has also programmed special nights dedicated to emblematic films and has organized a section called BAFICITO, designed especially for children.

The International Competition will feature the participation of outstanding feature films such as El Pleasure Es Mine, by Sacha Amaral, and The Odyssey of Kamatsu, by Leo Liberma and Sofía López Mañán. On the other hand, in the Argentine Competition, we find Martín Farina, Marco Berger, Matías Szulanski, Alejandro Fernández Mouján, José Celestino Campusano, and Raúl Perrone, who will present their most recent works. In addition, figures such as Lorena Vega, along with Gonzalo Javier Zapico, stand out in the group of new directors with promising projects such as the film adaptation of the play “Imprenteros”.
